Wednesday, Nov. 30: Students learned about the French and Indian War in two ways: by lecture and notes, and, of course, Mr. Betts! Attached are the notes from the French and Indian War, as well as the video for you to enjoy!

Thursday, Dec. 1: Students learned about the Regulators and their impact on colonial North Carolina, as well as their inspiration for the American Revolution. Attached are the slide show I created and the "Guided Notes" answers as attached to their "Pre-American Revolution" packet.

Friday, Dec. 2: Students reviewed the French/Indian War through Kahoot! and also learned/applied their understanding of colonial governments that featured governors chosen by the King, and colonial legislatures had a two-house system called the Upper House and Lower House. Democracy/Representative Government has been around since the Jamestown colony was created, as the Lower House featured representatives elected by everyday voters (though there were restrictions on who could vote). In case you did not receive a paper, please see me for a copy.
Dec. 5-9
Monday, Dec. 5: Students read through a cartoon that is featured in their "Pre-American Revolution" packet. They filled out a chart that breaks down the main Acts that were passed by Parliament after the "French and Indian War." Attached is the cartoon, as well as the warm-up questions for the week.

Tuesday, Dec. 6: Students played a jury in a Mock "Boston Massacre Trial" as they heard, saw, and read evidence that helped them decide whether or not the British soldiers involved were guilty. They later wrote their verdict with examples to back up why they feel the soldiers were innocent or guilty. Attached are the primary documents/arguments the students read as jurors.

Wednesday, Dec. 7-Friday, Dec. 9: Students have the "Pre-American Revolution" study guide in their packets. The test will take place on Monday, Dec. 12. Attached is the study guide in case the students are missing it. The study guide is due by Friday, Dec. 9 for a completion grade.
